Linwood Baptist Church – New Life Ministries is dedicated to helping meet the daily bodily needs of the least of Jesus’ brethren as part of its mission for the Gospel.
Linwood Refresher provides a place for homeless veterans to come to freshen up, offering them a hot shower, a shave, tooth brush and toothpaste, laundry facilities and season appropriate clothing. The stigma of homelessness is to a great degree one of perception — a perception which can prevent reception and acceptance by society at large.
Living constantly exposed to the elements, rain, heat, and humidity, the homeless members of our society are treated as outcastes, second world citizens in a first world society, because the environments and situations in which they live preclude the possibility of regular access to shower or bathing facilities. Refreshed they are able to reenter society with a fresh face and new outlook.
